The race is on! Friday night at Popejoy Hall, William Henry Curry, a candidate for the music directorship of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, opened the season with a big, full-throated program. The first of nine candidates who will be strutting their stuff over the coming months, Curry set an impressive standard that bodes well for the orchestra's future. Whoever is chosen, he or she will have a strong instrument to command.
