Man Pleads Guilty In Auto Sales Fraud.(Metropolitan)


A 75-year-old man has pleaded guilty to five counts of fraud and one count of attempted fraud and attempting to give a false statement in connection with the selling of used automobiles to people without telling them that they had been extensively damaged.

Robert J. Alarid entered into a plea agreement with the state Attorney General's Office on Wednesday, according to state District Court records.

In March, Alarid was charged with seven counts of fraud and three counts of attempted tax evasion and three counts of filing a false statement.

Prosecutors said that Alarid, who had addresses listed in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Georgetown, Texas, allegedly sold seven cars to New Mexicans. …
