Ford Advises Higher Air Pressure in Tires

Urged by attorneys general in 15 states including New Mexico, Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. has begun a "bounty program" under which it will pay $10 for any of its recalled tires in an effort to prevent resale.

"We are pleased they are starting this additional incentive," New Mexico Attorney General Patricia Madrid said Friday.

"We hope this program will encourage anyone selling used tires to check and make sure they do not have the recalled Bridgestone/Firestone tires for sale, and if they do, to return them for destruction in an environmentally appropriate manner," Madrid said. …
