Council To Review City Manager's Job Performance.

* Lawmakers' concerns include Solid Waste Division and water utility

Santa Fe's top administrator, already facing lawmaker scrutiny because of new grass being planted at a city park while the city endures a drought, could soon find himself defending his job performance on other matters, too.

City Manager Frank DiLuzio, who is on vacation and away from his office for the remainder of this week, will soon face questions about alleged judgment lapses at City Hall, council members said. Discussion could include financial instability in the Solid Waste Division, lingering problems and budget questions at Sangre de Cristo Water Co. and apparent management problems within the Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as past and present negotiation complications with the police officers' union.

"There are some clear problems with some (city) departments," councilor Karen Heldmeyer said Thursday.

Fellow councilor Jimmie Martinez, an acknowledged backer of the current city administration, agreed.
