Teen Makes Brief Escape With Chair.

A 17-year-old Santa Fe boy spent one dirty hour on the lam Sunday evening after he escaped from police, hid out in a trash bin and later gave up under the nose of a police dog.

The boy, whose name was not released, was picked up for shoplifting early Sunday evening, said Deputy Santa Fe Police Chief Beverly Lennen. Officers took him to the police department where they started booking him.

During the booking, the youth suddenly jumped up and ran out of the building, Lennen said, curiously taking a chair with him. …
