PNM ready to build line to Tesuque.

Public Service Company of New Mexico is poised to begin construction on a 10-mile transmission line north of Santa Fe after state regulators declined jurisdiction over the project last week.

Four citizen groups asked the Public Regulation Commission to stop construction and investigate whether PNM had complied with all of Santa Fe County's permitting requirements.

The commission agreed with its general counsel, Jim Martin, who said the panel has no jurisdiction in the matter.

The dispute over the Norton-Tesuque transmission line has been going on for years and has been reviewed in both federal and state courts. …
