State board seeks comment on education.

The New Mexico State Department of Education is seeking public input on its 2001 legislative proposals.

All New Mexicans are invited to participate in public hearings to be held from 4:45-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Albuquerque Hilton and at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute, 717 University SE, in Smith-Brasher Hall, Room 106.

The legislative proposals are organized according to the state board's seven strategic categories: academic achievement; quality teachers, principals, administrators and support personnel; accountability, choice and technology; earning public trust; safe schools and respectful environments; equitable opportunity; return on financial investment; and constructive engagement with board partners. …
