Children's Shelter Raises $3.5 Million.(Metro & New Mexico)

All Faiths To Upgrade Building, Security

After nearly five years of fund-raising, All Faiths Receiving Home has raised $3.5 million to provide better care for some of Albuquerque's abused and neglected children.

The Vision 2000 Campaign was launched in hopes of raising money that could improve the condition of the organization's "old and tired" buildings, executive director Steve Johnson said.

The money will double All Faiths' capacity and improve security. It also will pay for a new therapy center for children in foster care, a check-in area and administrative offices.

Johnson said the organization cares for about 1,000 Albuquerque youngsters every year. …
