Changes Would Affect 4th Street

Changes to the Fourth Street corridor in Los Ranchos are on the way.

On Jan. 10, Los Ranchos trustees will consider whether to advertise a proposed zoning ordinance that will affect the future of Fourth Street, Mayor John Hooker said Friday.

Members of a citizens' advisory committee have been working since July on recommendations to update the village's zoning ordinance, which was last revised in 1994, according to Village Clerk Annabelle Silvas.

Joe Brawley, a co-chairman of the citizens' committee, has said the new ordinance will include provisions to address beautifying Fourth Street and enhancing the business climate while preserving the village's rural character. …
