Ex-Village Official, Professor Vie for Job

The Taos County attorney on Friday named two of the 10 people who have applied to become the next county manager.

County Attorney Mary Lane Leslie, in response to a Journal North public records request, declined to release the remaining eight names, citing the applicants' desire to remain confidential.

Leslie said she does not believe those applications are part of county employment records.

She identified C.J. Law of Silver City, a professor of education at Western New Mexico University, and former state treasurer and finance secretary David W. King of Stanley, as two who did not request confidentiality. …
