IN THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT: Harold Morgan wants to know "what exactly is the definition of running a red light? Is the definition different for Albuquerque and other places in the state?"

Most of us know where Harold is coming from. And I don't just mean Albuquerque.

"As a kid in Albuquerque I was taught that having the barest slice of one's rear bumper still in the intersection when the light turned red meant one had run the light," Harold e-mails. "Much later I was told that if one had the barest slice of one's front bumper in the intersection, one could roll right through with no violation. My son confirms this from his driver's education class last year. …
