Business community cautiously hopeful.(Business)

Despite signs of a slowing U.S. economy, New Mexico's business community remains cautiously optimistic, according to a recent economic survey.

In a poll of 106 accountants conducted by the New Mexico Society of CPAs, 74 percent projected that a majority of their clients or employers expect 2001 gross revenues to exceed this year's figures.

But only 46 percent think those clients and employers will hire additional staff in the new year. …
