Conservancy District To Get New Gauges.(Metropolitan)

A new set of water-flow gauges along irrigation ditches and drains will show more accurately how much water the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District diverts and returns to the river, the district says.

Conservancy workers are installing the latest gauging station called a "telemetric metering flume" on the Upper Corrales Riverside Drain, near the Alameda Bridge.

By the end of 2002, the Conservancy District hopes to have 50 to 60 of the gauges installed throughout the Middle Rio Grande region.
