School Gets Updated Music, Dining Buildings.

Bernalillo High School band director Rudy Galindo won't have to sacrifice comfort for clarity next summer when the air conditioner gets too loud.

The noisy machine competed too often with student musicians during summer practices and was frequently switched off so Galindo could hear his students practice their notes.

Renovations to Galindo's classroom were part of a $2.95 million package that partly included renovations to the old Roosevelt Elementary building now housing the town library. Much of the work was completed last week.

Bernalillo High School's "C" building has become its new performing arts classroom center, home to the renovated band and drama classrooms and a new choral room with about 50 percent more space. …
