Rested Scorpions Will Try To Extend Winning Streak.(Sports)

Having to wait a couple of extra days before hitting the ice again after the brief Christmas vacation has played into the hands of the New Mexico Scorpions.

With Tuesday's game against Amarillo postponed two days by the snowstorm that closed Interstate 40 east to Texas, the team had enough time to get defenseman Mile Van Tassel back on the ice after a two-week stint on the injured list.

That means Van Tassel, who also has experience at forward, will move up front at Tingley Coliseum tonight against the Rattlers while natural blue-liner Miroslav Dvorak will rejoin the defensive rotation.

"If everybody's playing well, we'll just roll the lines and roll the defense," said Scorpions coach Tony Martino while putting an exercise bike through its paces. …
