Let's see, this time last year, it was Y2K. You remember Y2K, don't you? Everyone and his pony had at least an extra can of Spam on hand in case the world ended and Albertsons shut down. Businesses, governments, families were finalizing their last-minute disaster plans in case civilization really did go up in smoke.

And of course, it didn't happen. When the lights finally did go out, it was the middle of March and everyone had since misplaced the flashlights.

Now, of course, Y2K is a vague memory, a bit of trivia that'll next appear (I'm guessing) on some 25th anniversary episode of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? …
