* Retailers see browsers and bargain hunters but no day-after-Christmas rush

A snowstorm that hit the state slowed day-after-Christmas shopping around Albuquerque, dampening retailers' hopes of recovering from the seasonal sales slump.

Shoppers who did brave the elements were a mix of bargain hunters and browsers.

"I expected more people initially, but it's been pretty steady throughout the day considering the snow," said Allison Roy, store manager for the Montgomery Crossing Target.

Compared to last year's after-Christmas rush, there were not nearly as many people Tuesday at the Wal-Mart store on Academy, said assistant manager Diane Smith.

"There were no big lines, no major crush," she said. …
