Soccer Coach Was Positive Influence.(Metropolitan)(Obituary)

Pete Peters Jr., a longtime Albuquerque financial planner, had "a huge influence" on the boys and girls soccer teams he coached.

Peters died Saturday of a heart attack. He was 52.

A memorial service will be held this afternoon at 1 p.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper NE. A reception will follow at the church.

George Davis said Peters coached his son for four years in the American Youth Soccer Organization.

"He had a huge influence on our kids," Davis said. "It's such a huge loss."

He said Peters did everything it took to keep players interested in the sport and to help them succeed. …
