County Denies Ex-Employee's Allegations.

Former Investment Officer Claims Wrongful Dismissal

Sandoval County is denying allegations by its former investment officer, Cheryl Tucker, that the county wrongfully terminated her.

In a Dec. 14 response to a lawsuit Tucker filed against the county, Albuquerque attorney Kevin Brown who represents the county, denied most of the allegations in Tucker's lawsuit, which was filed Nov. 7.

The lawsuit names as defendants the commission, County Manager Debbie Hays, Treasurer Josephine Montoya and the county.

Tucker claims that as a result of her termination she has been damaged in lost wages and injury to her reputation. In its response, the county denies those allegations, as well as breach of contract.

Tucker seeks damages in excess of $25,000, punitive damages and other forms of relief. …
