It's White, It's Cold, It's Snow.

* Christmas storm, which should hang around today, shuts down roads and carpets ski slopes

Portions of New Mexico, including the Albuquerque metropolitan area, finally received a white Christmas on Monday, with accumulations of snow recorded before noon in foothill and mountain areas.

Sandia Peak Ski Area received 3 inches of snow Monday afternoon, and more was predicted.

Skiers carved through 7 inches of snow at the Santa Fe Ski Area, with snow still falling into the evening.

Drivers were less thrilled with the prospect of a white Christmas as they attempted to cope with icy roads and poor highway conditions. …
