If the Grinch ever tries to steal Christmas from the Montoya family in the South Valley, he might get electrocuted first.

Give or take a twinkle or two, there are some 41,000 lights in the Christmas display at the home of Ernie and Espie Montoya and their two children, Mariah, 8, and Evan, 6.

While Norman Bugg's estimated 50,000-light display at his Northeast Heights home is still the largest in town, you might say the Montoyas rule in the South Valley.

Decorating the house was Espie's idea about 14 years ago, but now Ernie admits he's got the decorating fever. …
