Pojoaque Prepares To Open Cultural Center.

The Pueblo of Pojoaque will close its Poeh Museum in March to focus on the 2002 opening of a larger museum near the current site on the U.S. 84/285 frontage road.

The old museum, opened in 1991 in a 1,200 square-foot storefront, began it's final exhibit in December, highlighting the work of students at the Poeh Arts, a fine arts-and-crafts school operated by the pueblo, according to a pueblo news release. The exhibit closes in March.

Pojoaque Pueblo began construction in 1996 on the three-acre Poeh Cultural Center complex, starting with a 7,000 square-foot classroom and studio space and completing a 12,000 square-foot adobe museum and administration building in 1999. …
