Prosecutor Claims Parker Left Victims Terrorized

A man accused of committing more than 10 robberies in 57 days was sentenced Thursday to 28 years in a federal prison.

Johnnie V. Parker, 36, pleaded guilty earlier this year to robbing the Bank of Albuquerque at 1301 Juan Tabo NE on Feb. 28.

Had he not entered a plea agreement with prosecutors, he could have faced as much as 75 1/2 years, Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Fouratt said in court Thursday.

Part of the reason for the sentence Parker received was an extensive criminal history.
