Santa Fe music producer forges path for female voices.(Music)


We have an unknown Santa Fe producer, Cheryl Bruedigam, who wants to change the pop paradigm.

Bruedigam hotel sales manager by day and producer-with-home-studio by night thinks there aren't enough female voices in popular music. It's an old gripe; for every Bonnie Raitt or Joan Osborne, there are a dozen males with extremely loud Strats singing about chicks, rage and chicks.

So in the name of giving gals with guitars some support, Bruedigam has put together a compilation CD of up-and-coming female singer/songwriters from across the country.

"The Rising of Women in Music" features nine tracks of extremely earnest, folky-New Age music. …
