Capital Overcomes TOs To Tame Tigers

LOS LUNAS The Capital Jaguars were in a generous mood Thursday night, passing the ball around recklessly to friend and foe alike.

But Capital, which committed 30 turnovers, got a bit more discriminating when it counted, pulling away for an 82-62 boys basketball victory over Los Lunas.

"We hadn't played in a week and a half, and it showed," said Terence Mirabal, who led the Jaguars with 25 points. "It was pretty ugly in the first half, but we started warming up as the game went on."

Capital (4-1) gave the ball away 18 times in the first half but also forced 15 turnovers by the Tigers (3-7). …
