Second-Half Run Lifts New Mexico.(Sports)

PORTLAND, Ore. The University of New Mexico women's basketball team used a 22-6 run that started with 12:21 remaining to overcome a halftime deficit and record a 72-52 victory against Portland State Saturday night at Stott Arena.

The Lobos (9-5) shared heroics by the time the run was finished, but it was started with players off the bench - Susan Bocock and Jasmine Ewing.

Playing in place of starting center Jordan Adams, who was struggling with her shot selection, and senior Jennifer Williams, who was in early foul trouble, Bocock connected twice from under the basket. Ewing also had two free throws, a baseline drive and a beautiful assist to Adams, who was back in the game at that point. …
