New Councilors Say They Will Be Decisive on Issues

Ask Santa Fe Councilor Miguel Chavez if he and the rest of City Hall, which is gaining a reputation for doing little to address the city's failings, will accomplish anything in 2001 and you will hear a hint of resentment.

"I think we're going to do something," Chavez responded. "That's not really a fair question. In some ways, we've done a few things."

Chavez pointed to long-range planning for future development and a recently approved resolution to examine and repair financial ills in the city's enterprise funds funds that operate the Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe golf course, the water utility and other interests.
