Candidates Vie For Posts in 2 Districts

Candidates lined up at the Sandoval County Bureau of Elections on Tuesday to formally enter races for school board seats in the Rio Rancho and Bernalillo school districts.

Three seats up for election in Rio Rancho and two in Bernalillo each drew interest. Tuesday was the filing date for the election, which is scheduled for Feb. 6.

Rio Rancho's District 1 school board member Karla Walker arrived to declare herself a non-candidate and helped draw ballot positions for other candidates.

Phyllis S. Rogers, Rose Wilson Parvaz and Don Schlichte all signed up to replace her.
