TVI Board Election Draws 4 Candidates.

The race for a seat on the governing board of Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute drew four candidates Tuesday for the seat that covers Rio Rancho and Albuquerque's West Side.

But in three other TVI districts, incumbents will run unopposed.

Candidates were required to file Tuesday with the Bernalillo County Clerk's office for the Feb. 6 election. Terms on the board are for four years.

In District 3 which includes the northwest side of Albuquerque (west of the river and north of Interstate 40), as well as Corrales and Rio Rancho incumbent Pauline J. Garcia is seeking her second term.

Garcia, an administrator at Qwest, will be opposed by Charles Haycox of Rio Rancho, a deputy sheriff in Bernalillo County; Amy Lovell of Taylor Ranch, a former TVI student government president who works as a paralegal for tribal courts in Laguna and Acoma; and Stephen J. …
