Taos, Mesa Vista Boys Start Strong at Lujan Tournament.(Sports)

POJOAQUE Monday's first round of the Ben Lujan Boys Basketball Tournament was a coming-out party for a pair of struggling teams while it proved an opportunity for a pair of others to show improvement.

Stumbling out of the gate this season, Taos and Mesa Vista found grooves as both picked up wins Monday to earn berths in today's semifinal round. For host Pojoaque and Hope Christian, Monday's wins only continued already strong starts to the season.

MESA VISTA 116, WINGATE 61: In the first boys game of the day, Mesa Vista ran wild over outmatched and outgunned Wingate.
