Restaurant forecast is rosy for 2001.

The coming year looks rosy for New Mexico's restaurant industry, according to the National Restaurant Association's 2001 Restaurant Industry Forecast.

The Washington D.C.-based organization is predicting that sales in the Mountain States region will increase more than anywhere else in the country next year.

"The growth in population, income and employment all contribute to the increase in restaurant spending, as restaurant sales typically mirror the region's economy," the forecast said. …
