Hispano chamber gala a masked ball.

La Noche Encantada 2001, the annual membership banquet of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, will take place Jan. 27 at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

This year's event will be a masked ball and concert featuring Tish Hinojosa accompanied by the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra with Venezuelan guest conductor Sergio Bernal in the Kiva Auditorium.

Hinojosa is a bilingual musical artist and interpreter of Tejano music. In 1996, she performed for President and Mrs. Clinton at the White House and she has made numerous appearances on TV's Nashville Network.

Her 1992 album, "Culture Swing," received the Indie Award for folk album of the year.

She was recognized by Fox TV's Bravo Honors in 1995 for creating one of the year's most important Spanish language albums, "Frontejas," and she received a Las Primeras (The Firsts) award from Mana, the largest organization of Latina women. …
