Teen Mom Awaits Sentencing at Home.


Crystal Gebler completed her court-ordered 15-day diagnostic evaluation this week and has gone home to await sentencing for the death of her newborn daughter on Dec. 30.

Gebler, now 16, pleaded no contest in September to a single count of negligently permitted child abuse resulting in death after the state agreed not to seek an adult penalty up to 18 years in prison.

Gebler's case was scheduled for final disposition, or sentencing, in late November, but Children's Court Presiding Judge Tommy Jewell asked for a formal psychological examination first.

Psychologists completed the evaluation this week, but prosecutors sought to have Gebler remain in custody until her Jan. …
