Youth Gets Maximum Sentence for Involvement in Shooting.

Edwin Dean Wilson,19, has been sentenced to the maximum 4 1/2 years in prison for his part in the July 1999 drive-by shooting death of 18-year-old Adam Anaya in Southeast Albuquerque.

Wilson, originally charged with first-degree depraved-mind murder and other crimes, pleaded guilty last April to conspiracy to commit a drive-by shooting, a third-degree felony, and conspiracy to tamper with evidence, a fourth-degree felony.

In his plea agreement, Wilson admitted driving the blue and white van from which the fatal shots were fired at Anaya.

But Wilson said in the written agreement that he didn't have a handgun or shotgun or any kind of weapon and never fired from the vehicle. …
