Deputy Announces Board Candidacy.

Charles Haycox of Rio Rancho, a 31-year-old deputy in the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, has announced his candidacy for the governing board of Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute.

He is seeking the District 3 position held by Pauline J. Garcia, who is running for re-election. The district includes the Northwest quadrant west of the Rio Grande, including the portion of Rio Rancho south of Northern Boulevard.

Haycox, son of Rio Rancho police chief Dencil Haycox, is a 1988 graduate of Cibola High School. He earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Phoenix and is studying for a master's in e-commerce from that school. …
