Ruins Set Stage for Monument's Christmas Party.(Community)

Get away and visit a place of tranquility by taking a tour of the pueblo Kuana by the light of luminarias.

That's the invitation from Coronado State Monument, which will be holding its third annual Christmas party tonight.

Kuana is the Tiwa name given to the monument site by the pueblo Indians who lived there between the 1300s and 1540.

Students from Bernalillo Middle School will be at the monument today to make and set out about 2,000 luminarias.

Pizza for the bag-folding youngsters has been donated by Pizza Hut and Village Pizza in Bernalillo, Park Ranger Angie Manning said. …
