Dean Opposes Move To Oust Philip Morris.(Metro & New Mexico)

A campaign for a Philip Morris-free campus at the University of New Mexico has garnered signatures from more than 1,000 students and 18 faculty members.

But the dean of the Anderson Schools of Management says he has no intention of ending a relationship with Philip Morris or its new parent company, Kraft Foods. Both "have maintained an active recruiting presence" on campus, he said.

"We are pleased to have a long-term relationship with Philip Morris and Kraft Foods," dean Howard L. Smith said in a statement. The companies have been important partners in the education and professional development of students and alumni, he said. …
