Senior Helps Moriarty Grab Wrestling Tournament Title.

Josh Barela is on the fast track to a possible state wrestling title.

Barela, Moriarty High's 152-pound senior standout, made short work of the competition at last weekend's Tucumcari Invitational and helped the Pintos capture the team title in the process.

Moriarty finished first with 139 points, well ahead of second place Trinidad, Colo., at 109 in the seven-team, two-day tourney at Tucumcari High.

Barela pinned two foes for the 152-pound title and upped his season record to 10-0. All of his victories have come via first-round pins.

"Josh was even more smooth than he's been all season," said Moriarty head coach Joey Gonzales. …
