Sandia's Eight 3-Pointers Power 87-81 Road Victory

ALBUQUERQUE Not even Anthony Fuller's sensational 29-point effort could defuse the Sandia High bomb squad Tuesday night.

Undefeated Sandia (7-0) dropped eight 3-point bombs on host Manzano, wiping out the Monarchs' upset hopes en route to an 87-81 victory.

Manzano tried to counter the Matadors' long-range offensive with Fuller, one of the best weapons in the city.

Fuller scored 23 of his points in the second half as the Monarchs erased an eight-point halftime deficit and knotted the score at 68-68 with 4:57 remaining in the game.

Sandia scored the next four points, but a daring drive for a lay-up by Fuller brought Manzano within two. …
