Town To Seek Sewer Funding.

The town of Edgewood moved ahead last week on two major projects that could help define the town's future.

The Edgewood Town Council decided at its regular meeting Dec. 6 to apply for a $3 million loan from the New Mexico Finance Authority to pay for construction of a sewage treatment system for the town's commercial district.

Councilors also approved an interim development agreement with the state Land Office that will get the ball rolling on development of state-owned Section 16.

The council voted 3-1 to apply for the state loan. Councilor Bob Stearley opposed the measure, saying the town should wait to build a sewer system until construction begins on a new interchange at Interstate 40 and N. …
