Village Examines Storm Water Runoff.

The Loma Larga paving project in Corrales is changing how storm water will drain out of parts of the village.

Corrales wants to send the runoff into a Southern Sandoval County Arroyo Flood Control Authority pond, but the village and the authority's board of directors are arguing about whether Corrales' drains should be able to handle big, rare storms.

Corrales is paving Loma Larga Road, which runs along the Corrales Main Canal in the middle of the village. At the moment, storm runoff on the south end of Loma Larga collects between the road and the canal near Windsong Lane.

The village used to let the runoff drain into the canal. …
