Student To Earn Salary of $33,000

Sandoval County clerk-elect Victoria Dunlap has named an 18-year old from Rio Rancho to serve as deputy clerk.

Travis Long, a graduate of Valley High School in May 2000, currently lives in Albuquerque while attending the University of New Mexico as a freshman. He said he plans to move back to Rio Rancho.

"There seemed to be a lack of trust in the clerk's office. Travis is nonpartisan and will help draw in the younger generation," Dunlap said Tuesday. "He will bring in new ideas."

Long said he works with his father, who is part owner in Bigby's, a Rio Rancho convenience store on Unser Boulevard. …
