Judge's Pay Dispute Could Be Resolved.

Council To Discuss Issue on Wednesday

Santa Fe Judge Frances Gallegos' latest struggle with city lawmakers for more pay could gain her $14,538 on Wednesday.

Gallegos, who was paid less than her predecessor for the first nine months after taking office in March 1996, maintains she was denied $7,388 during that time.

On top of the $7,388, which some city councilors have endorsed, the second-term judge is also seeking $1,828 in attorney fees and another $5,322 in interest. In November, members of the city Finance Committee voiced some reservation about paying interest or attorney fees.
