Peacecraft cashes in with nuts.(Food)

Local store offers popular cashews

It's that time of year again at Peacecraft in Nob Hill. The cashews are in 6-ounce packages of organic, dry-roasted nuts.

"We really stock up on cashews during the holidays, when nuts are so popular," says Angelo Tomedi, a local physician and chairman of the board of Peacecraft.

Peacecraft is a nonprofit organization that champions fair trade, a living wage for farmers and artisans whose work is sold at the store. The cashews the store sells are grown and harvested in Honduras, whose arid climate is perfect for growing the nuts.
