Behind every good women's basketball team is a ? Correct, a good woman.

In this case, however, it's two good women.

Meet Joanne Temple and Emily Chones, the University of New Mexico women's basketball trainer and strength/conditioning coach, respectively.

Both are 26 and natives of the East Coast, and both also work with many other sports teams, including football. But the realm of women's basketball is where they are in charge and the results of their efforts will most be noticed.

Chones, an Annapolis, Md., native and University of Maryland graduate, is in charge of making the Lobos women quicker, faster and stronger not to mention less injury prone.

Temple, from Tuckerton, N.J., and an East Carolina University graduate, not only treats injuries but also seeks to prevent them. …
