Seafood, spice fill up Restaurant Row.

* Pelican's plans No. 2 and Copeland's imports Cajun style

The West Side's booming Restaurant Row is full. A New Orleans-based chain of Cajun restaurants just gobbled up the last major site on the strip for its entry into the New Mexico market.

Copeland's Famous New Orleans Restaurant & Bar aims to open in July just north of newcomer Zio's Italian Kitchen, on the southwest corner of 7 Bar Loop Road and Coors Boulevard.

And Carrabba's Italian Grill is departing.

The Houston-based Carrabba's closed its doors at 10022 Coors NW next to sister eatery Outback Steakhouse permanently on Dec. 5. Carrabba's sold out the remainder of its long-term lease to a locally owned seafood place, Pelican's Restaurant, for an undisclosed price.

Pelican's, which has served up fish and steak at 9800 Montgomery NE near Eubank in the Paradise Square shopping center for 25 years, plans to open its second Duke City dining spot in March. …
