* Florida transplants bring new ideas to Working Classroom

Albuquerque's Working Classroom is starting to cover the map.

Miami artists Carlos Suarez de Jesus and his partner, Vivian Marthell, are recent high-energy transplants into the Albuquerque art scene.

Suarez de Jesus is the new visual arts program director at Working Classroom and Marthell is working in a new program between Working Classroom and Albuquerque Public Schools.

Since their arrival in September at the invitation of Working Classroom executive director Nan Elsasser, the duo has organized an exchange exhibition featuring eight New Mexico and 12 Miami, Fla., artists opening Friday at several venues in Miami. It's billed as a "barrio to barrio" show called "En Mi Barrio No Se Esconde La Fe."

Local artists participating include Oscar Lozoya, Delilah Montoya, Patricio Trujillo, Johnny Salas, Kenny Chavez, Luis Mayorga, Mychol Martinez and Kitichai Tepprasit. …
