OUTLOOK: With Valley hit hard by graduation, Cibola looks like the team to beat. With standout post Chris Lange and wing Mikal Monette leading a strong veteran cast, the Cougars could be state contenders. The next four teams appear well-balanced and should provide an exciting race. Albuquerque High has four starters back and could be ready to contend. Valley, Rio Rancho and West Mesa have young talent and high expectations. New coach Earl Diddle begins a rebuilding program in Gallup.
