Book May Benefit Property Owners

The New Mexico Historic Preservation Division has published a Grassroots Preservation Law Guidebook that could help property owners apply for government grants, low-interest loans or a shiny bronze home historical plaque.

The free guide written by land use attorney Anita Miller and designed by Jan Underwood discusses the procedures for listing individual properties and historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places and the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties. (You have to pay for history plaques, the book notes.)
