Sandia Prep swimmer Bobby Schelling is chasing another state title

When he's sucking air between strokes, Sandia Prep swimmer Bobby Schelling usually doesn't try to talk.

But that might be the only time the state's reigning New Mexico high school 100-yard backstroke champion isn't moving his mouth.

"He does talk a lot, always joking," says Sundevils co-coach Pete Durso.

From Durso to Schelling's Lobo Aquatics swimming club coach Bill Christensen to his parents, they can't help but smile when Schelling's verbal adeptness comes to light.

"I do think it would be fun to go into something like law," says the 6-foot, 3-inch, 170-pound junior. …
